An Evolutionary Argument Against Epiphenomenalism

In a recent post I argued that what it is like to perform some function is determined by or perhaps equivalent to the sub-functions or inner workings of the function in question.  In this post I would like to relate another argument for the necessary connection between physical function and qualia, an argument which I interpret as working strongly against epiphenomenalism. The Inter-Subjectivity of Truth

Folk Psychology and Humean psychologist in particular hold that there are two main types of psychological states: beliefs and desires which basically correspond to mind-to-world fit intentionality (MWFI) and world-to-mind fit intentionality (WMFI), respectively.  In this post I will explore the felicity conditions associated with each direction of fit and argue that such an account entails, to some degree, a post-modern turn.
